Privacy policy
Your family’s footage is personal. This page explains what KinCut collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and your rights.
Draft — this page is being finalised.
Who is responsible
KinCut is operated by [TO COMPLETE BEFORE LAUNCH: operator’s full name or company, registered address and tax ID], the controller of your personal data. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect and why
- Your email address — to create your passwordless account, sign you in and tell you when a video is ready
- Videos you upload or link — to find people in them and make your reels
- Face data derived from your videos (face detections, thumbnails and face templates) and the names you give people — to group appearances and build reels for you
- Whether a video has been paid for — to unlock downloads; Stripe processes the payment and we never see your card details
- Technical data such as your IP address — to keep the service secure and enforce rate limits
Face recognition
KinCut compares faces only within your own videos and the people you have saved in your account, to group appearances of the same person. It does not identify anyone against outside databases, never shares face data, and never uses your videos or faces to train models. Only use videos you have the right to use, and respect the people in them.
How long we keep it
- Videos, their face data, previews and reels: deleted 30 days after processing, or sooner when you delete them on your account page
- People you save to your account: kept until you delete them or your account
- Your account email: kept with your videos, and removed when you delete your account on your account page
- Payment records: kept as long as tax law requires
Cookies and browser storage
We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in (up to 180 days). Your browser also stores your last-used email and studio state so the app works smoothly. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who helps us
- Stripe — payments
- Mailgun (EU region) — sending sign-in and notification emails
- Cloudflare — network delivery and security
- Our hosting provider and our own GPU server — running KinCut and processing videos
Legal basis
We process your data to provide the service you ask for (performance of a contract), to keep KinCut secure (legitimate interest) and to meet legal obligations such as tax records.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to or restrict its processing, by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
